It requires one to assume such indecent postures...

Looking pretty good there Shahrukh... Bosch XD

Anyways, before I get under way creating stunning pieces of artwork, I thought I'd introduce you to one of my interests, as I feel that we should start doing that. So, yeah, I'm a cricket fan, and proud of it! Say what you will, but to me cricket is an ever so majestic sport. The technique, the motions, the tension, the occasional acrobatic feats, the strategy, the interplay, the mental and physical struggle, the intricate choreography of the whole thing, and the epic nature of the game just make it so very appealing! Someone once quipped that they could not understand how someone could like a sport were you could play for five days and yet come out of it with a draw. Yet that's the thing that makes it so amazing; the potential for amazing climaxes and anti climaxes, for tense finishes that can go down to the last delivery or fabulous romps to glory by a fifth wicket partnership.
And now, for all those with a shorter attention span, there's the IPL, or Indian Premier League, which has effectively become the cricket equivalent of the Premiership Cup (I think... not good when it comes to footy XD). Using the Twenty Twenty form of the game i.e. only 20 overs (120 deliveries) per innings, this competition has really done wonders for the popularity of cricket throughout the world. Saturated in commercialism, brimming with young player potential, and full of amazing players (both young and more experienced) and constantly quick run making and boundary hitting, it sure is the modern way to enjoy the sport. It also has quite a few quirks, mostly due to the commercial influence, with conventional aspects of the game such as 6's and short brakes being re-named "DLF MAXIMUMS" and " MAXX MOBILE STRATEGIC TIMEOUTS" respectively. Something I find quite ironic is that, of the eight teams in the league, the Kolkata Knight Riders (yes, they do have American sports-like team names, yet another quirk haha) are the most popular and probably most wealthy, and yet are at the bottom of the League XD
The man in the picture is not a cricketer, but is actually, as some may recoginse, famous Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan, owner of the KKR's. (Image belongs to him or the IPL I guess XD)

  1. While I'm not an avid follower of cricket, I won't turn it off if it's already on. There's something oh so satisfying about hearing the humble knock of a bat sending the ball into the stratosphere. I like cricket because of it's relatively slower pace compared to other sports, and the spectators seem a little more respectable as well.
It's still rather boring though. :p
